Trump Threatens Additional Tariffs via Social Media

President Trump has posted on social media expressing dissatisfaction with the European Union’s cooperation on trade negotiations. In his statement, he recommended imposing a 50% tariff on EU goods, effective June 1, 2025.

He has also posted that he expects iPhones sold in the U.S. to be manufactured domestically. He advised that if this is not the case, a tariff of at least 25% would be imposed on imported iPhones.

He later clarified to reporters at the White House that this approach would also apply to Samsung and other smartphone exporters.

Currently, these remain informal statements made via social media, with no official announcement from the White House or CBP.

We will continue to monitor the situation and provide updates as official details are released.
