The Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) has posted additional requests for new products to be considered as derivatives subject to Section 232 tariffs on steel and aluminum. The release of the requests begins a two-week comment period for potential inclusions, with comments due by October 21, 2025.
BIS received 95 inclusion requests in response to its September 17 notice, which opened the second submission period. In the first round, which began in May, the agency added 407 out of 467 requested subheadings to the tariffs. Those tariffs took effect on August 18, approximately three months after the first round of requests was posted.
