President Trump Announces Revised Rates for Select Countries

In addition to the reciprocal tariff extension announcement issued on July 7th, advising that the reciprocal tariffs for all countries other than China and Hong Kong, which were initially set to expire on July 9, will now remain in effect until August 1, 2025, President Trump has sent letters to several countries outlining the terms of their new reciprocal tariff rates.

Although these rates have not yet been officially confirmed and may be updated through further negotiations in the coming weeks, the White House has published a fact sheet confirming that:

  • For others, the reciprocal tariff rate may be higher than the previously announced rate.

It was also noted that additional letters will continue to be sent. As of July 7th, the countries that have received letters, along with their new reciprocal tariff rates effective August 1st, are as follows:

  • Japan (25%)

  • Korea (25%)

  • South Africa (30%)

  • Kazakhstan (25%)
