Union representative, Teamsters Canada has announced that Canada’s largest rail operators, Canadian National Railway Co. and Canadian Pacific Kansas City Ltd. are seeking a new collective agreement for their railway workers.
The main dispute is focused on reducing work shifts to offset potential public safety concerns. The Union and the railways appear to be far apart on the demands and the work stoppage could come into effect by May.
