Increase of Section 232 Tariffs Delayed on Upholstered Furniture, Kitchen Cabinets and Vanities

On December 31, 2025, President Trump signed a proclamation to delay the planned Section 232 tariff increases on upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities for another year.

Under the initial proclamation, the Section 232 tariff increases were scheduled to take effect at 12:01 a.m. EST on Jan. 1, 2026.

With this latest action, the current 25% tariff on certain upholstered furniture, kitchen cabinets, and vanities, as imposed under the September 25, 2025 Proclamation, will remain in effect.
