(2026-02-23) CBP Releases Guidance on the End of IEEPA Duty Collections

CBP has released guidance confirming the termination of duty collection under IEEPA. Duties imposed pursuant to IEEPA, including all related modifications and amendments, will no longer be in effect and will not be collected on goods entered for consumption or withdrawn from warehouse for consumption on or after 12:00 a.m. EST on February 24, 2026. This includes reciprocal tariffs, fentanyl tariffs on Canada, Mexico, and China, as well as the additional 40% tariff on Brazil.

CBP has stated that they will update the Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) programming, and all HTSUS numbers associated with IEEPA tariffs will be inactivated in ACE effective February 24, 2026.

This Executive Order affects IEEPA duties only and does not affect any other tariffs, including duties imposed under Section 232 or Section 301.
