The National Organics Program has also issued a reminder that organic shipments arriving in the U.S. without a valid NOPIC number are subject to reexport, donation, or destruction. Any NOPIC which contain or are followed by "draft" are not valid for entry.
CBP has identified two common filing errors related to trade-submitted import filing data in ACE for organic shipments. Filers are submitting organic shipments using non-conforming data in place of NOP Import Certificate (NOPIC) numbers, and filers are submitting organic shipments under the wrong message set in ACE. CBP has advised that filers should be using the OR2 message set to enter all 21-character NOPIC numbers.
